Blueberries are sacred to First Peoples because they can be dried and eaten during the long winter, and the blossom end of the berry is shaped like a five-pointed star, an indication the Creator sent the berries to relieve their children’s hunger.
Combine first 5 ingredients and pour into a buttered 6 cup (1.5 L) baking dish.
Combine remaining 6 ingredients in medium bowl and sprinkle over berry base.
Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream.

Chopped fresh basil or mint 1/4 cup 60 mL

Rolled oats 1/2 cup 125 mL
All-purpose flour 1/2 cup 125 mL
Unsalted butter, softened 1/3 cup 75 mL
Ground cinnamon 1 tsp. 5 mL
